November 9, 2024 - All events start at 8 am

45 miles+(solo/relay), Marathon, ½ marathon, 10k & 5k

2024 RACE DETAILS:

DAY OF EVENT DETAILS

Get ready for a challenging run adventure! The Mighty Missouri is not your typical road running event. You are leveling up on bad ass! This event is not designed as a relaxing walk in the park or an course to know out your personal record. It is designed to challenge runners with a rural running experience!

There will be a small and intimate number of runners on the course. A combined 50 people on the 5k and 10k course. 50 on the half marathon course. 20 marathon runners. 30 relay team members and less than five hard core 45 mile solo runners.

There will not be finisher medals or age group prizes as our philosophy is everyone is on an equal level on their personal challenges and abilities.

There will be aid stations throughout all course with water and gatorade. On the half marathon and longer courses there will be energy gel and other fuel resources available. Feel free to drop bottles or fuel materials on the ground on the side of the road when you are finished and we will pick them up when we sweep the course.

If you are on the long course and you have an emergency, question or need a pickup in the support van be sure to give our team a call or text. We will head your way and soon as we can and get you where you need to be. The support van will be driving the course helping out as needed. There will also be a e-cargo bike on the route that give aid who need it (especially helpful on the Katy Trail section of the course).

Here are some phone numbers to keep handy in case of emergency on course:

Sag Wag (Support Van) - 573-881-0572

Support Team - 573-673-5613

Regarding the hill near the end of the course (1/2 marathon course and longer). It’s rough and it’s tough. It switchbacks from the river bottoms to the top of the bluff near the winery. You will suffer and swear but in the end you will overcome it! The hill is a true testament to being a Mighty Missouri runner.

We are looking forward to seeing you this Saturday at the Mighty Missouri Relay! Let’s make it epic!

BEFORE THE RUN
Parking:
There will be plenty of parking available at the start of the event.   Look for a volunteer helping with parking.
Race Bibs: Before you begin the run make sure to pin your race number (bib) to your shorts or shirt.  Your bib has your disposable timing chip attached.  Please don't fold, bend or remove the timing chip on the back of your bib.  Make sure that you are wearing the bib that is assigned to you.  The bib number will help us track your time. Plus it helps us recognize you as a registered participant in the run.
Restrooms: There are three portapottys at the start/finish and there is a bathroom in Rocheport for the marathon and 45 mile distances and one in Franklin for the long distance (we will have some other potable bathroom placed along the course as well)
Weather: In case of inclement weather, the race of the run will be delayed until it is safe to do so. However, if it appears to be unsafe to run/walk for the duration of the morning, the race director reserves the right to cancel the race, and no refunds will be given.

DURING THE RUN

Check the route page for the course maps
Course Markings and Volunteers:  There will be volunteers at some important areas of the course.  There will also be arrows signs ao help direct you from start to finish. We are not posting mile markers on the course. I am sure most of you have those fancy odometer watches and such.
Run Right: Run against traffic if running on the road. If running on the sidewalk or multi-use trails, travel on the right and pass on the left. Never run more than two abreast if you are running in a group. If you are wearing a headset and listening to music during the run please be aware of your surroundings.
Aid Stations: There will be water/aid stations throughout the courses. We will have these every 2-3 miles depending on the area of the course. There will also be a roaming support vehicle and bicycles that will be services runners throughout the day. Just let them know if you need anything!
